Extended Deadline for ASAI and AAAI members only is Friday, Feb 5th!

3D or Traditional Hand Renderings Accepted!

Want to Have Your Best 3D Work Published for as Little as $150?

3DATS announces the production of a unique new book designed to give great 3D visualization artists around the world an affordable opportunity to show-off their best work in a beautifully crafted book of the highest quality print. This book provides 3D artists the opportunity to showcase their work to prospective clients or employers in a way that has never before been possible, and hence market themselves in a completely different light. The power of print is incredible! Don't miss this opportunity to show your future clients or employers just who should do the job.

Why Be Printed?

There are numerous benefits of having your work printed in this book, but the ones that will probably mean the most include the following:

  • The satisfaction of seeing your own work in print in a ‘Best Of’ book
  • Showing future clients or employees your printed work
  • Having your work recognized by the 3D community

How Are Images Selected?

Anyone can submit between 1 to 6 images, 3D or traditional hand renderings. A panel of judges will evaluate all submissions to determine if the quality of work is sufficient for inclusion in the book. Within 48 hours of submission, each artist will be informed by email of whether or not his or her work was selected for inclusion. If selected, the artist will be provided a link with which to purchase their page in the book. Once a payment is made, that artist is guaranteed placement in the book. Once all 100 spots are filled, the submission process will be closed and each artist will be contacted for further discussion about the layout of their page. Each artist will be able to design their own layout and work with the 3DATS compositing team to perfect the look of each page.

Will Any Submissions Be Rejected?

Judges from 3DATS, Spine3D, and CGarchitect evaluate artwork for a final round of unrestricted submissions for the upcoming book on 3D visualization art. Previously, artists were required to have been past winners of other 3D contests. Now, any artist that wants their work published can submit their imagery for consideration.

How is the Book Designed?

The book will showcase 100 artists over 200 pages. Each artist will have a full 2-page spread to showcase their work. Each spread can contain 1 image per page or 1 large image spanning both pages, as illustrated below. Artists may submit additional images, up to 6 total, so that additional layouts can be utilized. In these cases, the final layout, sizing and placement of images will be determined by the book’s compositing team.

How Will the Book Look?

The book will be in landscape format, 12 inches (31cm) wide and 9 inches (23cm) tall. Each page will be printed to the highest possible quality standards, utilizing a four-color printing process and heavy-weight, high-gloss paper. Images will be printed to the highest resolution provided, but no less than 200 dpi in any case. Upon going to print, members of 3DATS will travel to China, the country of printing, to work side by side with the printer specialists to ensure exact color profiling takes place, so that every image appears in print exactly as it should.

What is the Cost?

3DATS has secured 50 artists through the previous selection process. 50 spots remain, but because this selection process is first-come first-served and is now open to all artists, the remaining 50 spots will go fast. Don’t miss your opportunity to be published! Each of the remaining 50 spots are available at the cost $150. This cost includes 5 books, or $30 per book.

The cost of shipping within the U.S. is $10 regardless of the number of books purchased.
The cost of shipping outside the U.S. is $30 regardless of the number of books purchased.

How Many Copies Will Be Printed?

3DATS will print a very limited run of these books – 1000 total. The first 500 will be the required 5 books per artist that are required, and the second 500 will be available for purchase at a later date at a price to be determined.

How Many Copies Can Be Purchased?

A total of 1000 books will be printed. The first 500 will go to the 100 artists whose work will appear in the book. Once the book is sent to print, all artists and the general public will be allowed to purchase some of the remaining 500 copies of the book, on a first-come first served basis.

Does the Work Have to be 100% Yours?

3DATS will not be responsible for submissions of plagiarized work. It is assumed that by having your work presented in the aforementioned websites, that any work sumbitted is largely and predominantly the work of the submitting artist.
